Paw Prints E-Newsletter: Volume 49 8/29/2018 10:17:00 AM Share: *|MC_PREVIEW_TEXT|* From the desk of the Interim Director of Athletics…  Hello Wildcat Fans! I always like to start my Paw Prints letters by reflecting on what has been achieved in Daemen Athletics and what we have to look forward to. Daemen Athletics has so much to be proud of: student-athletes who excel academically and athletically, a staff with many accolades to their names and a growing department which continues to stay focused on creating an environment in which our students can become the best versions of themselves. As I discussed in my last Paw Prints, a national search had been underway for our next Director of Athletics during the summer. With the start of a new academic year coming next week it is the perfect time for Daemen Athletics to welcome our new Director of Athletics, Traci Murphy. I am confident that Traci will continue to elevate Daemen Athletics and stay student-athlete focused as she builds on the foundation in place. As Traci begins her new role at Daemen, I want to personally thank the staff, faculty and student-athletes who showed me such tremendous support during my time as Interim Director of Athletics. I look forward to continuing to see all of their successes.  I also discussed in my previous Paw Prints letter that we had been preparing for our Sixth Annual Wildcat Golf Classic. The outing was a great day of fun and celebration of all Daemen had accomplished this past year. A big thank you to the staff who put the event together and to our Daemen family and friends who came out and supported us at the event. If you were unable to attend the golf outing this summer, remember that it is never too late to donate to Daemen Athletics to support any of our initiatives. As the calendar approaches September, several of our teams have begun their preparations for the 2018-19 season. This past weekend, our women's volleyball team hosted the Daemen Volleyball Classic with help from presenting sponsor Millennium Buffalo, bringing three NCAA Division II teams to our gym. Our men's and women's soccer teams both open their seasons this Thursday, August 30, and our talented cross country runners compete for the first time on Saturday at Beaver Island State Park. The beginning of the fall season is always a fun and exciting time for us in Daemen Athletics.  With that said, I hope you enjoy the last few weeks of summer As always, we thank you for your continued support of Daemen Athletics.
