Paw Prints E-Newsletter: Volume 50 9/27/2018 10:20:00 AM *|MC_PREVIEW_TEXT|* Fom the desk of the Director of Athletics… Hello Wildcat Fans! I am very excited to have joined the Wildcat Nation. For those of you who don't know, I am the product of a Division II athletic experience. I started my career in athletics as a certified athletic trainer. The welfare of the student-athlete and providing them a great experience has been the foundation of my career path for almost 30 years. I am passionate about impacting the lives of student-athletes. I believe an athletic department, as a whole, has a responsibility to help the student-athletes reach their full potential. As I see it, our mission is to positively transform the lives of our student-athletes academically, athletically and personally through a competitive intercollegiate athletics program that enhances the reputation and visibility of Daemen College. My vision is to continue creating a department that is passionate about what they do: winning games, competing for championships and building relationships with the student-athletes, the institution and the community. During this first month, I have found that the athletic department staff and head coaches care about educating our student-athletes, are committed to the college's principles of academics, and are working towards building competitive, championship-level programs. Over the next 60 days I will continue getting to know the staff, coaches, student-athletes, and the culture. I will spend most of my time listening, learning and digesting all the information. After I get to know everyone, I will formulate committees that will help develop a comprehensive five-year strategic plan for this Athletic Department. We will work with alumni, faculty and other college staff to envision what is next for Western New York's Division II Athletic Program. The foundation has been laid but where are we going and how do we get there? We have limitless potential! I invite you to continue following along, and I'm looking forward to updating you on our progress.
