Men's Soccer Closes Weekend Road Trip With Loss To Molloy

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - Senior Angelo Bordenca scored two goals to lead Molloy College to a 4-0 victory over Daemen College here today in East Coast Conference men's soccer action. Molloy picked up its third-straight victory and improved to 6-4-1 overall and 3-2-0 in the ECC. Daemen dropped to 0-12-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the league.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Molloy opened the scoring just 1:38 into the contest when Bordenca collected the rebound of his own shot and scored his first goal of the season.
  • Bordenca netted his second goal of the game in the 19th minute to give the Lions a 2-0 lead. Junior Eli Whyte assisted on the goal.
  • Molloy scored twice in the first 4:25 of the second half to secure the win.
  • Senior Carlos Bonilla converted a penalty kick just 31 seconds into the second half, and classmate Paul Morales gave the hosts a 4-0 lead at 49:25. Bordenca assisted on the goal.
  • Molloy finished with an 11-1 edge in shots on goal.
  • Sophomore Jarrett Lecceadone (Randolph, N.Y.) went the distance in goal for the Wildcats and made seven saves.
     

GAME NOTES

  • Daemen prevailed in the previous two meetings between the two programs. Molloy now owns a 5-2-0 advantage in the all-time series.
  • Today's game marked the third of five-straight road games for the Wildcats.
  • Daemen is idle until next Monday (Oct. 21) when it travels to Alderson Broaddus University for a non-league match.
