AMHERST, N.Y. - Daemen College and rival Roberts Wesleyan College battled to a 0-0 double-overtime tie here today in East Coast Conference women's soccer action. Both teams entered the match tied in the ECC standings. Daemen, which is ranked 10th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II East Region poll, is now 8-3-3 overall and 2-2-2 in the ECC. Roberts Wesleyan moves to 7-4-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the league.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Daemen posted a commanding 18-4 edge in total shots, but the Wildcats only managed three shots on goal. RWC registered two shots on target.
- Junior Maddie Flores (Seattle, Wash.) went the distance in net for the Wildcats and made two saves en route to her fifth shutout of the year. It marks the ninth time this season she has held an opponent to one goal or less.
- Senior Kelsey Brinkel made three saves for the Redhawks.
- The host Wildcats posted a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
- A total of 25 fouls were whistled, 14 against the Redhawks and 11 against the Wildcats.

GAME NOTES
- Today's game marked the first time in the long history between the two programs that the game ended in a scoreless tie. RWC holds an 11-8-4 advantage in the all-time series.
- Senior Jamie Boyar, who entered the game ranked third among the ECC leaders in goals (14), was held without a goal for just the fifth time this season. She has totaled 51 career goals and remains three goals shy of tying the program record for most career goals (54) set by Kim Walker (2003-06).
- Daemen closes out its non-conference schedule Tuesday (Oct. 29) with at game at Clarion University.
