New Hampshire SNH (3-0) Winner Match Recap: Men's Tennis | 10/6/2019 4:00:00 PM | By Mike Miranto, Sr. Associate A.D. for External Operations & Communications Men's Tennis Concludes Fall Season With Loss At SNHU MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Daemen College men's tennis team wrapped up its fall season with a 7-0 loss to perennial powerhouse Southern New Hampshire University at the SNHU Penmen Stadium today. The loss drops Daemen to 0-4 on the season, while SNHU improved to 3-0. The Penmen have claimed four of the last five Northeast-10 Conference championships. The Penmen opened up a 1-0 lead by sweeping through doubles play. With a default win at No. 3 doubles already in their bag, the Penmen won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles (by brothers Willem and Bas van Biezen), and added a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles by Guido Jannsen and Emmanuel Vacalares. Daemen's Fabian Wilde (Crimmistschau, Germany) and Patrick O'Brien (Pittsford, N.Y.) battled in the top two positions of the singles lineup, but fell, respectively to Willem van Biezen (6-3, 6-1) and Vacalares (6-1, 6-3). Daemen's 2019-20 season will continue during the spring semester. Their spring schedule will be announced at a later date. Daemen College features the only NCAA Division II athletics program in the Buffalo-Niagara region, sponsoring 17 intercollegiate teams.
