AMHERST, N.Y. - Andrew Sischo of Daemen College has been named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Men's Division II National Player of the Week for the week ending November 10.

The redshirt-junior center was named MVP of the ECC-CACC Challenge last weekend after averaging 32.5 points, 18.0 rebounds and 4.5 blocks in Daemen's victories over Felician and Nyack.  Sischo has started the season with four consecutive double-doubles, as the Wildcats split their games at the Small College Basketball National Hall of Fame Classic before posting a pair of victories in the ECC-CACC Challenge to improve to 3-1 to start the season.

Sischo went for 24 points and 15 rebounds in a season-opening defeat to No. 1-ranked Northwest Missouri State, and he registered 11 points and 12 rebounds in a 68-64 win over Missouri Western.  He led the Wildcats to a 95-80 win over Felician with 31 points, 19 rebounds, and 5 blocks, and notched another 30-point game in an 80-74 win over Nyack with a season-high 34 points with 17 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Sischo, a native of Guilderland, N.Y., is averaging 25.0 points, 15.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.8 blocks per game through the season's first four games.

Sischo is the third Daemen player to garner USBWA National Player of the Week honors, and the first since Torrence Dyck for the week ending January 17, 2016. Former Wildcat Gerald Beverly earned the honor for the week ending January 11, 2015.
