Daemen Sweeps Penn State Behrend For Second Straight Weekend 2/16/2019 5:08:00 PM By: By Mike Miranto, Sr. Associate A.D. for External Operations & Communications ERIE, Pa. - For the second consecutive weekend, the Daemen College women's bowling swept a trio of matches from Penn State Behrend as the teams completed a home-and-home series here today. Daemen posted victories of 828-688, 850-710 and 812-777. The Wildcats have now won eight of their last nine matches, and today's results bring their overall season record to an even 19-19. Penn State Behrend, a member of NCAA Division III and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, dropped to 4-50 this season. Junior Katie Good (Hamburg, N.Y.) and sophomore Adrianna Pencek (Dunkirk, N.Y.) paced the Wildcats today, posting respective scoring averages of 173.3 and 171.0. Katlyn Newberry (Rochester, N.Y.) and Alex Hasiotis (Rochester, N.Y.) also chipped in with 169.7 and 168.0 scoring averages, respectively. Freshman Christina Aldridge (Webster, N.Y.) also posted a 164.5 average while appearing in two of the three matches. Good (194), Newberry (185) and Pencek (180) led Daemen to a 140-pin victory in the opener. Good's 185 was the team-high in match number two, while Aldridge chipped in with a 175. In the third, it was Hasiotis leading the way with a 195. Daemen also took three from PSB when the teams met last weekend (Feb. 10) at Classic Lanes. The Wildcats opened the day with back-to-back wins in traditional matches (845-724, 838-682), then closed the action with a 4-1 victory in a best-of-seven Baker format match. The Wildcats are back in action tomorrow at the Brother Patrick Lacey Memorial Tournament hosted by St. Vincent College. Daemen is the defending tournament champion.
