Wildcats Ready for ECC Championships

CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP TIME
The Daemen University women's bowling team competes at the ECC Women's Bowling Championships this weekend at Bowler City Lanes in Hackensack, N.J. The Wildcats placed sixth at the 205 ECC Championship after posting a 2-2 record.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Five-player teams will compete in a three-day double-elimination schedule. Once a team loses two matches, they are eliminated from the tournament. Rounds 1-7 will be Baker best-of-seven matches. Bracket One and Bracket Two will take place on Friday, March 20. Bracket one will have seeds No. #3 Molloy, No. #6 Daemen, and No. #7 Saint Anselm.  Bracket two will have seeds #4 Adelphi, #9 STAC, #5 Roberts, and #8 D'Youville. On Saturday, the No. #1 seed (Bryant) will play the lowest remaining seed, and the No. #2 seed (Kutztown) will play the highest remaining seed. The championship match on Sunday will be a Mega Match format. 

FORSHA EARNS ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
The East Coast Conference announced its 2025-26 Women's Bowling All-Conference Teams on Thursday, with Brenna Forsha (Tonawanda, N.Y.) of Daemen being named to the Third Team. This is the first time in her career that Forsha has garnered all-conference accolades. Last season, she was named to the ECC All-Tournament Team.  The junior has completed 859 frames for the Wildcats this season and is the team leader in strikes (344) and strike percentage (39.7%). She has also posted 320 spares and a spare percentage of 61.3%. 

LAST TIME OUT 
Daemen wrapped up the regular season at the Redhawk Roc City Classic on March 7, going a perfect 4-0 and earning second place at the tournament. The Wildcats began the day by defeating Penn State Behrend, 767-753. Daemen then took down tournament host and Western New York foe Roberts Wesleyan by two, 796-794. The Wildcats continued their strong stretch with a 889-846 win over rival D'Youville. The Wildcats then had a bye/blind round, where they knocked down 800 pins. In the final match of the day, Daemen downed William Smith, 901-822. Cassidy Papero (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) logged an average of 178.2 to lead the way individually for Daemen, finishing in fifth place in the tournament.

ECC WEEKLY HONOR ROLL 
Papero was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll on March 12. She logged an average of 178.2 to lead the way individually for Daemen, finishing in fifth place at the Redhawk Roc City Classic. The junior posted scores of 171, 183, 211, 148, and 178 for a total of 891. She helped the Wildcats go 4-0, finishing in second place as a team at the tournament. Daemen defeated Penn State Behrend, Roberts Wesleyan, D'Youville, and William Smith.

BY THE NUMBERS 
Forsha is the team leader in strikes (344) and strike percentage (39.7%). Behind her is Sabrina Palmer (Waterloo, N.Y.), who has thrown 306 strikes and posted a strike percentage of 36.0%. Cassidy Papero (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) has recorded 297 strikes and a strike percentage of 34.1%. Forsha has completed 859 frames for the Wildcats this season, while Palmer has completed 847, and Papero has completed 868. Mackenzie Hutchins (Wheatfield, N.Y.) is the team leader in spares (361), having completed 869 frames.
