RIT INVITATIONAL - FULL RESULTS

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's track and field team took part in the RIT Invitational this afternoon. The event was hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology. It marks the second-straight year Daemen has taken part in the event.

Top-five finishes by redshirt sophomore Kassandra Nolet (Fort Erie, Ont.), junior Savannah Warner (Elma, N.Y.) and sophomore Nazjahe Boswell (Rochester, N.Y.) highlighted the day for the Wildcats.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Nolet, fresh off an all-conference season with the women's cross country team, placed fourth among 24 participants in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:52.03. Today's effort comes after solid showing by Nolet at the season-opening Brockport Season Opener last month when she topped a field of seven runners in the 5,000 meters with a time of 19:21.10. Sophomore Sarah Golas (Alden, N.Y.) also took part in the 3,000 meter run today and placed 10th with a time of 11:55.09.
  • Warner was one of four Daemen runners to take part in the 1,000 meter run and she placed fourth out of 25 participants with a time of 3:18.67. Warner also took part in the 400 meter dash and placed ninth with a time of 1:06.69. Redshirt junior Shania Livecchi (West Seneca, N.Y.), junior MacKenzie Tubbs (Elmira, N.Y.) and junior Taya Mucha (Lockport, N.Y.) also took part in the 1,000 meters. Livecchi placed 12th (3:33.89), Tubbs finished 15th (3:35.31) and Mucha placed 16th (3:41.58).
  • Boswell posted a top-five finish in both the 60 and 200 meter dash. She placed fifth in the 60 with a time of 8.13 and finished third in the 200 with a time of 27.60. It marks the 11th and 12th time over her brief career that she has posted a top-five finish in an indoor event.
  • Redshirt freshman Samantha Ritter (Fairport, N.Y.), redshirt freshman Emily Shea (East Amherst, N.Y.) and sophomore Monahe Marchione (Buffalo, N.Y) also took part in the 200 meter dash. Ritter placed 6th (28.88), Shea placed 13th (31.03) and Marchione finished 14th (31.28). Shea was the only Daemen participant in the 500 meters and she placed 15th with a time of 1:29.80.
  • Daemen's 800 meter relay team consisting of Boswell, Ritter, redshirt sophomore Alexis Villarrubia (Rochester, N.Y.) and graduate student Kathryn Yoder (Amherst, N.Y.) placed sixth out of nine teams with a time of 1:54.88.
  • Junior Katja Meyer (Verona, N.Y.) competed in two of the six field events today. She placed seventh in the triple jump (10.13 m) and 12th in the high jump (1.41 m).
  • Yoder was the top Daemen finisher in the long jump, as she placed 24th (4.39 m).
  • Senior Taylor Haude (Rochester, N.Y.) made her season debut and placed ninth in the pole vault with a leap of 2.80 meters.
