Daemen Cheerleaders Defend Title At Rock The Falls International Championships

2/15/2020 4:18:00 PM

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. - The Daemen College cheerleading team remains perfect after claiming another first-place finish today. The Wildcats topped the college division at the Rock the Falls International Championships held at The Conference and Events Center in the Cataract City.

The result today marks the program's fifth first-place finish in as many competitions since being elevated from club to varsity status prior to the 2018-19 academic year.

The Wildcats, under the direction of head coach Brianna Aichinger, were judged to have the best two-minute routine among college teams entered in today's championship competition. The Wildcats' routine combined traditional cheerleading stunts with dancing, jumping and tumbling. It marks Daemen's second first-place finish this season after they claimed top honors at the Fredonia Cheer and Dance Competition on January 26. It was also the second-straight season that the Wildcats have won first place accolades at the Rock the Falls International Championships.

The Daemen cheer squad will return to action at the Great Lakes Championship slated for Saturday, March 7 in Erie, Pa.
