BROCKPORT MULTI -- FULL RESULTS

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's track and field team took part in the Brockport Multi this afternoon. The event was hosted by The College of Brockport. It marks the second time this season and the ninth time over the past four indoor seasons that the Wildcats have traveled to Brockport for an event.

Redshirt sophomore Kassandra Nolet (Fort Erie, Ont.) highlighted the afternoon for the Wildcats, as she placed first in the 5,000 meter run. Additional highlights included a fifth-place finish by junior Savannah Warner (Elma, N.Y.) in the 800 meters and two top-10 finishes by junior Katja Meyer (Verona, N.Y.).

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Nolet topped the field of 22 runners in the 5,000 meters with a personal-best time of 18:42.93. She crossed the finish line 20 seconds ahead of runner-up Molly Byrne of SUNY Geneseo. It marked the second time this season she has finished first in the 5,000 meters, as she also topped the field at the Brockport Season Opener on Dec. 7 with a time of 19:21.10. Nolet has now posted a top-five finish in each of Daemen's four meets this spring. She also placed fourth in the 3,000 meters at the RIT Invitational with a personal-best time of 10:52.03 and came in second place in the mile run at the Highlander Invitational with a personal-best time of 5:30.73. Nolet, who earned second team All-East Coast Conference honors during the cross country season this past fall, has now posted a top-five finish in six of the 11 events she has competed in during her two seasons of indoor track.
  • Sophomore Sarah Golas (Alden, N.Y.) and freshman Courtney Merrill (Speedway, Ind.) also took part in the 5,000 meter run today. Golas placed 11th with a time of 20:02.55, while Merrill finished 17th with a time of 20:30.90.
  • Warner placed fifth out of 46 runners in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:28.97. It marks the third-straight meet she has posted a top-five finish—all in a different event. She placed fourth in the 1,000 meters during the RIT Invitational on Jan. 18 and then finished first out of 10 runners in the 600 meters at the Highlander Invitational on Jan. 24.
  • Redshirt junior Shania LiVecchi (West Seneca, N.Y.) and junior Mackenzie Tubbs (Elmira, N.Y.) also took part in the 800 meter run. Livecchi placed 35th (2:44.99) and Tubbs finished 40th (2:50.92).
  • Sophomore Nazjahe Boswell (Rochester, N.Y.) placed third in her heat during the 60 meter dash preliminaries with a time of 8.28, but that time failed to qualify her for the finals. She would also compete in the 200 meter dash and placed ninth with a time of 27.72. Sophomore Alexis Villarrubia (Rochester, N.Y.) also took part in the 200 meter dash and placed 25th (29.71).
