3/8/2020 8:10:00 AM

ERIE, Pa. - Make it a perfect six-for-six for the Daemen College cheerleading team as they placed first at the Great Lakes Championship on Saturday afternoon at the Erie Bank Sports Park. It marks the sixth first-place finish for the Wildcats in as many competitions since the program gained full varsity status prior to the 2018-19 academic year. It's also the team's third first-place finish this season.

Despite losing a key team member to an injury just hours before the competition, the Wildcats still managed to obtain a perfect score in the competition. Head coach Brianna Aichinger directed some channges to the team's routine following the injury. Daemen was judged to have the best two-minute routine with a combination of traditional cheerleading stunts as well as dancing, jumping and tumbling.

The Daemen cheer squad will return to action at the Queen City Championship on Saturday, March 14 at the ADPRO Sports Fieldhouse in Orchard Park.
