With the win, the Wildcats have matched their longest conference winning streak and best start to a conference season since joining the ECC in 2013. Daemen has won 12 of their last 14 matches, improving to 16-7 overall. The Wildcats last started 9-0 in ECC play during the 2018 season when they finished 13-1 and captured both the ECC regular season and tournament titles. Tonight's victory moves Daemen one step closer to securing the No. 1 seed and hosting rights for the upcoming ECC Championship tournament. The Wildcats have already clinched a bid to the four-team tournament which is slated for November 19-20. The conference tournament champion automatically advances to the NCAA tournament. Tonight's match featured teams book-ending the ECC standings. Roberts Wesleyan dropped its sixth straight match, falling to 1-18 overall and 0-9 in the conference. Daemen has won 14 consecutive meetings with the Redhawks - their longest active winning streak against any single opponent. The Wildcats own a 33-20 advantage in the all-time series. IMPACT PLAYERS Caitlyn Meyer (Clarence, N.Y.), Sam Logan (Eden, N.Y.) and Vanessa Kuliga (Glenview, Ill.) paced the Wildcats tonight, combining for 31 of the team's 39 kills. Meyer was a force on the right side, finishing with 13 kills on 23 attempts (.435 hitting percentage) - her most kills since totaling 15 vs. St. Rose on October 2. Meyer has now recorded 10 or more kills in 17 of 23 matches this season. She entered tonight's action leading the ECC in kills per set (3.44). Logan continued her strong senior season by putting down 10 kills and adding eight digs and two service aces. Logan entered the match averaging a team-high 3.52 kills per set over the previous 11 matches. She's now recorded 10+ kills in 10 matches this season. Kuliga chipped in with eight kills on just 14 attempts, finishing with a .500 hitting percentage. It marked the seventh time this season that Kuliga has posted a .500 hitting percentage or better. Olivia Alessi (East Aurora, N.Y.), Jasmine Brundage (East Aurora, N.Y.) and Maggie Burns (Louisville, Ky.) also made ket contributions to the Daemen win. Alessi finished with a match-high 32 assists - her 16th match this season with at least 30. Brundage, who was recently named the ECC Defensive Player of the Week for a sixth time, shared match-high honors with 14 digs, while Burns chipped in 11 digs. Teagan Weber (14 digs), Emily Rowlison (six kills) and Sydney Yanak (six kills) contributed to the Redhawks' cause. TURNING POINT Leading 9-7 in the second set, Daemen embarked on their best run of the night, rattling off 11 out of the next 12 points. Meyer recorded a kill and an ace, while the Wildcats got points from Alessi (kill) and Burns (ace) in the run as well. Roberts Wesleyan, which narrowed a 20-11 gap to 22-19 in the opening set, never got closer than eight points down the stretch of the second. The Redhawks threatened to extend the match by building a 12-7 lead early in the third set. But, Daemen responded by outscoring the hosts 18-7 from that point. The Wildcats evened the set at 16-16 on a kill by Meyer which ignited a match-ending 10-3 spurt. Meyer (four kills) and Logan (two kills) accounted for six points in the run.
