Scalisi Named To D2CCA All-East Region Second Team

11/23/2021 11:00:00 AM

AMHERST, N.Y. - Junior forward Tatyjana Scalisi (Williamsville, N.Y.) of Daemen College has been named to the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Women's Soccer All-East Region Second Team. The full announcement of the D2CCA All-East Region Teams was made in a press release this morning.

Scalisi, who began her career by playing one season at Division I Buffalo, played a pivotal role during her first full season with the Wildcats, leading the team to a 9-6-1 overall record, including a 7-1-1 mark in East Coast Conference play. After appearing in all four games and totaling two assists during the unorthodox 2020 season (played in Spring 2021 due to COVID-19), Scalisi took her game to another level while starting all 16 contests this fall. She led a potent Daemen offense by totaling seven goals, five assists and 19 points. She ranks fifth in both goals and assists and fourth in points among the ECC leaders and was an All-ECC First Team selection earlier this month.

Scalisi scored her first Daemen goal and added two assists against crosstown rival D'Youville on September 18. She scored a career-high three goals and added an assist in a seven-point performance at Lincoln (Pa.) on September 26, earning ECC Offensive Player of the Week honors the following day. Scalisi netted a single goal against St. Thomas Aquinas on October 9, and picked up her second multi-goal game of the season, scoring twice in a 3-0 shutout of Staten Island on October 23. Daemen posted a 4-0 record in games that Scalisi scored in.

Scalisi becomes the third Daemen player to garner D2CCA All-East Region honors, joining two-time recipient Jamie Boyar (2018, 2019 Second Team) and Celia de Pablo Esteban (2018 Second Team).
