A search for a new head coach will be commencing in the coming days. Metz has led the Daemen triathlon program since its inception in 2015. Daemen was one of the first institutions to add a varsity-level women's triathlon team after the sport was established as an Emerging Sport for Women at the 2015 NCAA National Convention. Metz was instrumental in the early stages of the program as he helped the secure grant funding from USA Triathlon that aided in the formation of the program. Metz coached two triathletes (Amber Custodi and Bella Buenting) who earned All-Region honors and took the team to the Collegiate Triathlon National Championships five times in seven seasons.
