Women's Soccer Honors Graduating Seniors

AMHERST, N.Y. - Despite the cancellation of their final game this season, the Daemen College women's soccer team found a way to recognize its three graduating seniors yesterday afternoon. Goalkeeper Maddie Flores (Seattle, Wash.), defender Serena Uhl (Victor, N.Y.) and midfielder Aryana Dreyer (Orchard Park, N.Y.) were introduced, along with their families, at a ceremony held at Karrer Field prior to a season-ending, intra-squad Blue vs. White scrimmage.

Flores, Uhl and Dreyer have each been key contributors for the Wildcats over the last four seasons. Since arriving on campus, the trio has helped Daemen achieve a 30-21-5 overall record while making the program's first-ever appearances in the East Coast Conference Championships and the NCAA Division II Championships. Before they helped the Wildcats go 2-2 in this year's unorthodox, pandemic-shortened campaign, the trio played important roles in Daemen's 11-win 2019 season - the best of the program's NCAA era.

Flores is a three-time ECC Defensive Player of the Week who appeared in 38 games while making 24 starts between the pipes. She finished with 20 career victories and 10 shutouts. Her finest season came in 2019 when she posted a 0.99 goals against average and .832 save percentage while posting six shutouts.

Uhl appeared in 36 games and made nine starts over her four-year career. She appeared in a career-high 13 games while making four starts in 2019, contributing to Daemen's record-setting defense which allowed just 13 goals in 17 regular season contests.

Dreyer made 45 appearances and six starts during her career, and totaled three assists. The first assist of her career came on Kaylyn Phillips' overtime game-winner in a 2-1 defeat of St. Thomas Aquinas during Dreyer's freshman season.

All three players will graduate later this month - Flores with a degree in Paralegal Studies; Uhl with a degree in Health Promotions; and Dreyer with a degree in Social Studies Adolescent Education.

In addition, although she could not be in attendance Sunday, the team recognized former defender Sam D'Agostino (Mississauga, Ont.) who completed her studies last December. D'Agostino competed in and started 49 contests for the Wildcats and was a two-time All-ECC selection before the pandemic took away her opportunity at a senior season.

Daemen was scheduled to play against long-time rival Roberts Wesleyan at Karrer Field Sunday, but a positive COVID-19 test result within the opponent's Tier 1 personnel forced the game to be canceled.
