HARRY F. ANDERSON INVITATIONAL - FULL RESULTS
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's cross country team returned to racing today after a two-week hiatus, placing 11th out of 18 teams at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational held on the campus of Roberts Wesleyan College.
Paced by two top-100 finishers, the Wildcats totaled 324 points in the team standings to finish well ahead of regional foe Felician (371 points) which placed 12th.
The race presented the biggest challenge of the season to date for the Wildcats as four regionally ranked Division II teams were in the field, along with a nationally ranked Division III team. Stonehill, the No. 5 ranked team in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) East Region poll, had five of the top 14 finishers and placed first with 55 points. The Skyhawks bested host Roberts Wesleyan, the No. 3 team in the East Region poll, which placed second with 66 points. Division III program Rochester finished third.
Shane Pease of Roberts Wesleyan won medalist honors, topping the field of 199 runners. Pease completed the 8K race in 25:39.0, edging teammate James Betts (25:39.3) by just three-tenths of a second.
Today's race was held on the same course that will host the East Coast Conference Championships (October 23) and the NCAA Division II East Region Championships (November 6).
