Caitlyn Meyer (Clarence, N.Y.), Sam Logan (Eden, N.Y.) and Allison Post (Windsor, Calif.) - the same trio that led the Wildcats to a 3-1 victory over defending Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference champion East Stroudsburg to open today's action - were the offensive stars for the Wildcats again. The trio combined for 40 of Daemen's 51 kills in the match. The Wildcats posted a season-best .324 hitting percentage and limited the Hilltoppers to just 26 kills on a .151 hitting percentage. She did so while committing just three htiting errors, resulting in a .464 hitting percentage. Meyer was making her Daemen debut this weekend after playing the first four years of her collegiate career at Division I James Madison. After totaling four service aces vs. Walsh, Logan put down five more this afternoon - one shy of her career-best effort. She added 13 kills, bringing her career total to 499. Post reached double-figure kills for the second time today, finishing with 11, while Vanessa Kuliga (Glenview, Ill.) and Loren Alberts (Huntley, Ill.) split 10 kills out of the middle of Daemen's offense. Sophomore Olivia Alessi (East Aurora, N.Y.) exclusively handled setting duties for the Wildcats and finished with a season-high 44 assists. Defensively, sophomore Jasmine Brundage (East Aurora, N.Y.) and junior Mickaley Monahan (Saline, Mich.) combined for 17 digs. TURNING POINT Daemen dominated the opening set, jumping out to a 15-5 advantage thanks in part to the serving of Logan and Brundage. The lead reached 22-7 before the Hilltoppers could muster any kind of success, but it was too late by then, The Wildcats trailed only briefly in the second and third sets. It was 23-14 in the third before West Liberty put together their best spurt of the match, an 8-0 run that pulled prompted two Daemen timeouts and pulled them within 23-22.
