Titus has been named the ECC Women's Basketball Player and Defensive Player of the Week for games played January 24-30. It's the second time this season and the third time in Titus' career that she's earned both awards in the same week. The official announcement of ECC weekly awards was made this afternoon in the league's weekly women's basketball report. Titus averaged 20.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while leading the Wildcats to conference wins over D'Youville (79-46), Staten Island (73-48) and District of Columbia (61-51). The Wildcats extended their winning streak to 10 straight games, improving to 12-3 overall and a perfect 10-0 in conference play. Titus opened the week by scoring a game-high 19 points and grabbing eight boards to lead the Wildcats past the Western New York rival D'Youville Saints. She canned three of Daemen's 16 three-point field goals in the victory. During the game, she passed 1,200 career points, becoming just the 15th player in program history to do so. Against CSI, Titus shot 12-for-22 from the field and erupted for 31 points - her second 30-point game of the season. She narrowly missed a double-double, hauling in nine rebounds while also swiping five steals - one shy of her season high. Titus capped the week by posting 11 points, nine rebounds and two steals against UDC. A three-time All-ECC selection and this year's ECC Preseason Player of the Year, Titus is now a 22-time ECC weekly honoree. She has been named ECC Player of the Week seven times, including four selections in 11 weeks this season. She has been named ECC Defensive Player of the Week three times this season and 11 times in her career. Titus is averaging a career-high 19.1 points per game, best among all ECC players this season. She has appeared in 88 games (including 80 as a starter) in her career, helping the Wildcats to a 67-21 record to date. Earlier this season, she became the 27th member of the program's 1,000 point club. She has now totaled 1,244 points, 705 rebounds and 145 blocks and is just the fourth player in program history to reach 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 100 blocks. Titus and the Wildcats return to action this Wednesday, February 2 when the visit longtime rival Roberts Wesleyan for a key ECC contest at 6 p.m. Daemen College features the premier NCAA Division II athletics program in the Buffalo-Niagara region, sponsoring 18 intercollegiate teams.
