LATROBE, Pa. - It was a successful return to competition for the Daemen College women's bowling team as the Wildcats posted a 3-1 record in a quartet of Baker format matches at Lincoln Lanes today.

Daemen, which had been idle since winning two of three matches at Pitt-Bradford on December 4, started the day by sweeping a pair of matches against Penn State Behrend. Daemen took the first meeting 778-697 and followed with an 864-690 victory in the second. The Wildcats outscored the Lions in seven of the 10 Baker games that comprised the two matches. Daemen is 5-0 against Penn State Behrend this season and 16-2 against them all-time.

The final two matches of the day pitted Daemen against event host St. Vincent. The Wildcats had their best match of the day, winning 926-883 in the first meeting with the Bearcats. Just 14 pins separated Daemen from a four-match sweep as they dropped the finale, 857-843.

Alex Hasiotis (Rochester, N.Y.), Mollie Gizicki (Brighton, Mich.), Christina Aldridge (Webster, N.Y.), Paige Bartosz (West Seneca, N.Y.) and Caitlyn Nowak (West Seneca, N.Y.) saw the bulk of the action for the Wildcats today.

Today's results pushes Daemen's overall record to an even 23-23 this season.

The Wildcats return to tournament play tomorrow as St. Vincent hosts the Brother Patrick Lacey Memorial Tournament at Lincoln Lanes. The tournament is slated to get underway at 11 a.m. Daemen has won the tournament twice in the last four seasons.
