AMHERST, N.Y. - Paige Bartosz (West Seneca, N.Y.) and Caitlyn Nowak (West Seneca, N.Y.) of Daemen University have each been named to the All-East Coast Conference Women's Bowling Third Team, the league announced today. Both competing in their junior season, Bartosz and Nowak became the first student-athletes in the seven-year history of the Daemen women's bowling program to garner All-ECC recognition.

Bartosz and Nowak have been key cogs for the Wildcats all season, leading the team to a 49-33 overall record entering this weekend's action at the ECC Championship. The Wildcats have eclipsed the program record for wins in a season (40 wins during the 2019-20 season) and are ranked in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Division II/III Poll for the first time ever (No. 14). The team has been especially good of late, posting a 29-11 record since early February while placing first at the Brother Patrick Lacey Memorial Tournament (Feb. 13) and the Wildcat Division II Invitational (Feb. 18-20).

Bartosz has appeared in 406 Baker format frames this season and is averaging 18.56 pins per frame. Her 65 Baker double strikes are second only to Nowak's 72. She leads the team in Baker strikes overall with 174. In traditional matches, Bartosz is averaged 18.39 pins in 363 frames bowled.

Nowak leads the team in Baker (420) and traditional (422) frames bowled. She has posted an 18.52 pins-per-frame average in Baker matches and an 18.69 pins-per-frame average in traditional matches. She is the lone Daemen player to earn ECC Bowler of the Week honors, earning the accolade in late October after she was named MVP of the Mercyhurst Invitational.

Bartosz and Nowak were joined on the All-ECC Third Team by KC Miller and Malia Stout of Wilmington University, Hannah Skalacki of Molloy College and Megan Wehmeier of Adelphi University.

All-ECC First Team selections included Maddie Gannon of Chestnut Hill College, Jenna Rapach and Rhianna Smith of Caldwell University, Samantha Strebel of Mercyhurst University and Wilmington's Rachel Hirst. Strebel was additionally named the ECC Bowler of the Year.

All-ECC Second Team selections were Kristen Derr and Blanca Fraticelli of Adelphi, Sarah Gerken of Roberts Wesleyan College, Natalie Swindell of Felician University and Mercyhurst's Haley Youker. Fraticelli was additionally named the ECC Rookie of the Year.
