The two-day tournament features 10 schools and was hosted by Penn State Behrend at Eastland Bowl. In addition to tournament host Penn State Behrend and Daemen, the other participants include D'Youville University, Hilbert College, Laroche University, Pitt.-Greensburg, Roberts Wesleyan, Saint Vincent College, Ursuline College and William Smith College. The Wildcats went undefeated (5-0) during the opening round on Saturday and ended up winning eight of nine matches over the two days. The tournament champion is based on total pinfall over the two days. Daemen, the defending tournament champion, placed fourth this year. Saint Vincent claimed the championship with 8,439 total pins, followed by William Smith (8,145), Roberts Wesleyan (7,974) and Daemen (7,810). HIGHLIGHTS Daemen entered day two in third place with 4,503 total pins. Saint Vincent sat atop the leaderboard after day one with 4,721 pins, followed by Roberts Wesleyan (4,504). Daemen went 3-1 in matches played today. All of today's matches were scored using Baker Format. Daemen opened the day with an 868-655 win over Ursuline. Daemen held a 476-381 lead after three games and took control with a 199-137 win in game four. It marked the first meeting between the teams since the 2019-2020 season. Daemen then suffered its first loss of the tournament following a 949-810 setback to Saint Vincent. The match featured two teams ranked in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Division II/III preseason poll. SVC built a 588-482 lead after three games, before Daemen cut into the lead following a 184-164 win in game four. SVC closed out the match with a 197-144 win in game five. Daemen rebounded with a 797-755 win over Pitt.-Greensburg and capped the day with an 832-681 win over LaRoche. The Wildcats have won nine of their last 10 matches overall and stand at 13-5 on the year. UP NEXT Daemen is idle until the weekend of Oct. 27-29 when the Wildcats head to Orlando, Fla. to take part in the Destination Florida Tournament hosted by Sacred Heart University.
