AMHERST, N.Y. -- For the fifth time this season, freshman outside hitter Charlotte Koerber (Munich, Germany) was named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week. The league announced the awards on Monday afternoon in the weekly sport report for competitions taking place Oct. 23-29.

Koerber earns her seventh weekly ECC award and her fifth ECC Rookie of the Week nod after helping the Wildcats to a 3-0 sweep over Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday. The heavy hitting freshman finished with nine kills (3.0 kills per set) and nine digs (3.0 digs per set) in the victory while hitting at a .269 clip. She added two aces and one assisted block for a match-high 11.5 points in the victory.

On the year, Koerber leads the team with 266 total kills and ranks third in the league with 3.75 kills per set, and has tallied ten double-doubles on the season. She leads the team and is tied for second in the ECC with 0.54 aces per set, totaling 38 so far this year. Koerber ranks second on the team with 209 total digs and averages 2.94 digs per set (10th in the league), and has received a team-high 410 total receptions for a 95.1-percent reception rate.

Daemen has earned at least one major weekly award in eight of the nine weeks the conference has produced a weekly report, and the Wildcats have swept the weekly awards twice this season.

The Wildcats return to Lumsden Gymnasium this weekend for a pair of ECC matches. They will host Queens in an 11 AM match on Saturday, then host Molloy on Sunday at 11 AM for their final weekend of the regular season.
