Mason went 8-of-9 from downtown and established a new NCAA Division II era (2015-present) program record for three-pointers made in a game. He also owned the previous record of seven along with current assistant coach Jeff Redband. The overall program record is 12 three-pointers in a game set by David Skolen during the 1989-90 season. Daemen, which is ranked eighth in the Division II College Sports Communicators (D2CSC) East Region poll, improved to 9-4. Franklin Pierce dropped to 3-7. IMPACT PLAYERS Four players scored in double figures for the Wildcats. Mason went 9-of-12 overall and connected on his first eight three-point attempts. Sophomore Justin Glover (Buffalo, N.Y.) connected on 8-of-11 from the field and scored a career-high 20 points. He also added three rebounds and four assists. Senior Nick MacDonald (Amherst, N.Y.) chipped in 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Senior Justin Hemphill (Buffalo, N.Y.) recorded his second double-double of the year, as he finished with 11 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three blocks. Junior Sean Trumper paced the Ravens with 25 points and eight rebounds. GAME NOTES It marked the first ever appearance for Franklin Pierce at Lumsden Gym and just the third all-time meeting between the two teams. Daemen owns a 2-1 advantage in the series. Franklin Pierce is a member of the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10). The Ravens went 17-12 overall and 11-9 in NE-10 play last year were picked ninth in the NE-10 preseason coaches' poll. The Wildcats have won their last 14 home games dating back to last season and are 97-18 (.842) at home during Daemen's NCAA Division II era (2015-present). Daemen's 14-game home winning streak is the longest in the East Region and the seventh longest among all Division II schools. Daemen entered the game leading the East Coast Conference in team defense, allowing just 70.3 points per game. Daemen entered the game leading the ECC in field goal percentage (.478) and shot 53-percent (35-66) from the field today. It is the sixth time this season the Wildcats have shot 50-percent or better from the field. They are 6-0 in those games. The game was tied at 16-16 11 minutes into the game when a three-pointer by Mason sparked the Wildcats on an 11-3 run that gave the hosts a 27-19 lead. FPU scored the next five points to make it a three-point game, but Daemen then took control with a 16-3 run. Mason's sixth three-pointer of the half capped the run and gave the Wildcats a 43-27 lead. Daemen would take a 47-27 lead into the break. The Ravens opened the second half with a three-pointer by sophomore RJ Dalehaye to make it a 17-point deficit, but FPU would come no closer than that the rest of the game. Daemen took its largest lead of the game, 71-47, eight minutes into the second half and the teams traded baskets the rest of the way. Daemen finished 35-for-66 (53%) from the field overall and made 12-of-23 from downtown. The Wildcats made 11-of-16 from the charity stripe. Franklin Pierce shot just 31-percent (10-32) in the first half and finished 23-of-58 (40%) from the field overall. The Ravens made 13-of-31 from downtown and canned 14-of-18 from the charity stripe. NEXT JUMP BALL Daemen is idle until Dec. 31 when the Wildcats travel to Manchester, N.H. to take on Saint Anselm College in a non-conference game.
