Wildcats Fall To Division I Purple Eagles

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - The Daemen University men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to Division I Niagara University this afternoon in a match played at Village Glen Tennis Courts. Daemen, which opened its spring season with a 4-3 win over Rochester Institute of Technology Friday night, dropped to 1-4 on the year. Niagara improved to 2-1.

Niagara opened the match by sweeping all three doubles matches to earn the one point as per NCAA Division I/II scoring. The Purple Eagles then won all six singles matches to secure the win.

DOUBLES RESULTS
#1 - Trevor Masi & Tanner Bedard (Niagara) defeat Alex Lumanog & Luis de Vuyst (Daemen), 6-4
#2 - Manuel Alonso & Bryce Bodak (Niagara) defeat Phillip Vance & Rohan Chitanand (Daemen), 6-4
#3 – Gurudstat Makkar & Rohan Srivistava (Niagara) defeat Zachary Laplante & Adam Pasierb (Daemen), 6-3

SINGLES RESULTS
#1 - Bedard defeats Lumanog, 6-2, 6-0
#2 - Masi defeats de Vuyst, 7-5, 6-2

Daemen is idle until Feb. 11 when it travels to St. Lawrence University for a dual match.
