WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. -- In a late night Friday match, the Daemen University men's tennis team came away with their second straight win of the year, posting a 5-2 victory over the visiting Bloomsburg University Huskies at the Miller Tennis Center. After topping Houghton 8-1 on Wednesday (March 15), the Wildcats move to 4-8 overall with the win. Bloomsburg remains winless on the year.

For the second straight match, Daemen shined in doubles play. The freshman pairing of Rohan Chitanand (Den Haag, Netherlands) and Adam Pasierb (Lancaster, N.Y.) topped Bloomsburg's Chaitanya Choudhary and Vini Moura 6-2 in No. 3 doubles play. Daemen then earned the first point of the match with a win in No. 1 doubles, as per NCAA Division II scoring. Freshman Alex Lumanog (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Luis de Vuyst (Antwerp, Belgium) topped Bloomsburg's Iu Casamitjana and Albert Martin, 6-2, marking the third time in four matches that Lumanog and de Vuyst won No. 1 doubles. Daemen's senior pairing of Zachary Laplante (Ottawa, Ont.) and Phillip Vance (Orchard Park, N.Y.) came up short in No. 2 doubles, 6-3. 

The Wildcats came into singles with the same fire, with Laplante picking up a 6-0, 7-5 win over Oliver Wisemann in No. 5 singles, and Pasierb taking down Landon Wall in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 to give Daemen the 3-0 lead. The Huskies picked up their first point in No. 4 singles, but Daemen secured the match victory after Lumanog topped Casamitjana 3-6, 7-6, 6-4 in No. 1 singles to lift the Cats up, 4-1. de Vuyst won Daemen's fifth point with a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 win in No. 2 singles over Patel.

The Wildcats will take on Le Moyne on Sunday in a rescheduling of their snowed-out match from March 10. Daemen will travel to Syracuse for a 5:30 PM match on Sunday, March 19.
