WINCHESTER, VA – The Daemen University men's tennis team dropped a non-league match, 6-3, to NCAA Division III Shenandoah University on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Wildcats drop to 5-14 on the year, while the Hornets improve to a 10-3 overall record.
As per NCAA Division III scoring, the Hornets picked up two of the three doubles points with wins in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Daemen's freshman duo of
Adam Pasierb (Lancaster, N.Y.) and
Rohan Chitanand (Den Haag, Netherlands) topped Brenton Baugh and Jonathan Clippinger, 8-3, in No. 3 doubles to earn Daemen's first point of the match.
Shenandoah won the first four singles pairings to take the match, but the Wildcats kept up the fight through to the end. Senior
Zachary Laplante beat Baugh, 6-4, 6-0, in No. 5 singles. In No. 6 singles, Pasierb took down Clippinger (6-1, 6-0) in the final match of the day to make the final score 6-3.
