Men's Tennis Drops Regular Season Finale To Southern New Hampshire

GOFFSTOWN, N.H. -- Playing in the final match of the regular season, the Daemen University men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Southern New Hampshire University on Monday afternoon.

The Penmen picked up the first point of the match after sweeping all three doubles pairings, as per NCAA Division II scoring rules. SNHU won No. 1 doubles, 6-1, over Alex Lumanog (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Luis de Vuyst (Antwerp, Belgium), then went on to take No. 2 doubles over the senior duo of Zachary Laplante (Ottawa, Ont.) and Phillip Vance (Orchard Park, N.Y.), 6-1. Rohan Chitanand (Den Haag, Netherlands) and Jayven Williamson (Minneapolis, Minn.) dropped No. 3 doubles, 6-3. 

Southern New Hampshire went on to sweep all six singles pairings to win the match, 7-0. With the loss, the Wildcats finish the 22-match regular season with a 5-17 overall record and a 0-5 record in East Coast Conference play. Daemen will enter the postseason on Friday with an 8:30 a.m. match against the University of the District of Columbia in the ECC Championship consolation game.
