It marks the 11th consecutive year that Daemen has had at least one player named to the NABC Honors Court. To be considered for the NABC Honors Court, student-athletes must have reached junior or senior academic standing and hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2. "Education is a core value of the NABC, and we are privileged to recognize these outstanding student-athletes and the coaches and support staff who invest in their development," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "The hundreds of teams and thousands of players that qualified for NABC academic awards this season are a testament to our sport's ongoing prioritization of success in the classroom." Fasoyiro, a business administration/sport management major with a 3.62 cumulative grade point average, earns a spot on the NABC Honors Court for the first time. A transfer from Ashland University, has made immediate contributions in his first season with the Wildcats this past winter. Slowed by a preseason injury early in the year, he started the final 21 games and the Wildcats are 17-4 with him in the starting lineup. He scored in double figures in 14 of the final 15 games and averaged a team-high 13.4 points. He also ranked second in on the team in steals (40) and third in rebounding (5.5 rpg). He scored a career-high 31 points in a win over Staten Island on Jan. 6 and netted 30 points in Daemen's East Coast Conference (ECC) Tournament semifinal win over Roberts Wesleyan. He was a second-team All-ECC selection and was also named to the ECC Championship all-tournament team. MacDonald, a business administration/sport management major with a 3.43 cumulative grade point average, earned the honor for the second-straight year. MacDonald, the son of Daemen head coach Mike MacDonald, started all 28 games for the Wildcats last year and ranked second on the team in scoring average (12.4 ppg) and three-pointers made (45). A third-team All-ECC pick last year, he scored in double figures 24 times and ranked fourth among all ECC players in free throw percentage (.814). He played his first two seasons at Division I Niagara University. MacDonald joins the likes of Andrew Sischo, Ziv Basden, Sean Fasoyiro, Sayeed Osorio, Jeff Redband, Alex Borges, Aaron Davis and Troy Nowak as the only Daemen players with multiple NABC Honors Court selections. Mason is a business administration/sport management major and a first-time NABC Honors Court honoree. A College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic-All-District honoree this past year, he has maintained a 3.75 cumulative grade point average over his three year career. Mason established himself as one of the top three-point threats in the nation this past season. A third-team All-ECC pick, he ranked second among the ECC leaders in three-pointers made (82) and his three-point field goal percentage of .515 was the highest over all three NCAA divisions. He made seven three-pointers in a game twice during the 2022-23 season, which tied Daemen's NCAA-era (2015-present) record for three-pointers in a game originally set by Redband. Mason averaged a team-high 32.0 minutes per game last year and ranked fourth on the team in scoring average (10.9 ppg). He was named to the ECC Championship all-tournament team after going 6-for-6 from downtown and scoring 18 points in Daemen's championship game loss to St. Thomas Aquinas College. Daemen closed out the 2022-23 season with a 20-8 overall record and a 12-4 mark in the ECC.
