It was the first dual match of the season for the host Purple Eagles, while the Wildcats dropped to 1-3. The match was played under NCAA Division I/II scoring rules and Niagara claimed the doubles point after winning all three matches. All three matches were very competitive, and Niagara prevailed 6-3 in all three. Daemen's No. 1 doubles team of sophomore Alex Lumanog (Albuquerque, N.M.) and junior Juan Alvarez (Puebla, Mexico) lost to junior Trevor Bedard and senior Trevor Masi. Sophomore Rohan Chitanand (Den Haag, Netherlands) and freshman Lasse Mergens (Bochum, Germany) fell to senior Roberto Vaca and freshman Vid Maric at No. 2 doubles. The Purple Eagles completed the doubles sweep after juniors Bryce Bodak and Rohan Srivastava defeated fifth-year senior Luis de Vuyst (Antwerp, Belgium) and graduate student Zachary Laplante (Ottawa, Ontario). Niagara won all seven singles matches. Lumanog battled graduate student Manuel Alonso at No. 1 singles. Lumanog took the first set, 6-3, before Alonso answered with a 6-3 win in the second set and completed the comeback with a 6-2 win in set three. Maric outlasted de Vuyst (6-4, 6-3) at second singles, while Alavarez and Bodak went three sets at No. 3 singles. Bodek took the first set 6-1, before Alvarez responded with a 6-4 win in set two. Bodek rebounded with a 6-3 win in set three. Alvarez has gone three sets in three of his five singles matches this season.  Chitanand fell to junior Gurustat Makkar (6-1, 6-1) at No. 4 singles, Vaca got past Mergens (6-1, 6-1) at No. 5 and junior Salvador Vazquez defeated Laplante (6-4, 6-2) at No. 6. Today's match marked the 10th all-time meeting between the Wildcats and the Purple Eagles. NU has prevailed in all 10 matchups.
