WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – The Daemen University men's cross country team placed second for the third consecutive season at the 2024 East Coast Conference Championships on Saturday morning at Bassett Park. The Wildcats placed two runners in the top-14 finishers to earn All-Conference honors today.
Daemen placed their top five runners between 10
th and 26
th place in the race to finish with a team score of 76. Roberts Wesleyan University claimed the team title for the 10
th consecutive season, placing their top five in the first eight finishers including the first and second place finishers. Molloy University finished third with 86 points. St. Thomas Aquinas College (112), Queens College (114), D'Youville University (142) and the College of Staten Island (179) were the final four teams.
Roberts Wesleyan's Zachary Hall paced the field of 68 with a time of 25:48.5. Roberts' Owen White finished second and D'Youville's Henry Smith finished third.
Daemen junior
Aidan Kincaid (Orchard Park, N.Y.) led the Wildcats for the second straight meet, earning Second Team All-ECC honors for the third consecutive season with a time of 26:48.6 to finish 10
th overall.
Graduate student
Jon Moote (Wilson, N.Y.) was named to the Second Team All-ECC after finishing 13
th with a time of 27:07.7.
Sophomore
Ethan Keating (Wooster, N.Y.) placed 16
th overall with a time of 27:27.0. Junior
Josh Trometer (Lancaster, N.Y.) finished with a time of 28:01.0 and posted a personal-best finish of 19
th overall. Graduate student
David Schwinger (Buffalo, N.Y.) rounded out the Daemen scorers with a 26
th-place finish at 28:32.1.
NOTABLE
- Today marked the third straight Second Team All-ECC honor for Kincaid, who was named the 2022 ECC Rookie of the Year as the first freshman to cross the finish line in the conference championships.
- Moote has earned All-Conference honors in each of the past three seasons.
- Sophomore Brad Tobin (Hamburg, N.Y.) posted a time of 29:58.4 to post a personal-best finish of 37th overall.
- Graduate student Laertes Cushing (Alfred, N.Y.) rounded out the Daemen runners with a 40th place finish with a time of 30:22.9.

The Wildcats will travel to Rochester, N.Y. to race in the 2024 NCAA Division II East Region Championships at the Matt St. James Cross Country Trails on Saturday, Nov. 9.
