AMHERST, N.Y. – The Daemen University women's soccer team punched their ticket to the East Coast Conference Championship title game for the second consecutive season with a resounding 4-1 win over Queens College on a rainy Sunday at Karrer Field.

The second-seeded Wildcats (9-8 overall) will head downstate to Long Island to face 2024 ECC regular season champions Molloy University (11-4-2 overall) in a rematch of the 2023 East Coast Conference Championship title game on Nov. 16 at 12 p.m. The Lions punched their ticket to the final with a 2-1 win over fourth-seeded Mercy University this afternoon. As for Queens, which earned the first postseason victory in their program's history earlier this week, they end the year with a 10-7-1 record.

HIGHLIGHTS
• With steady downpours throughout the match, Daemen broke a 0-0 deadlock in the 38th minute as Queens keeper Samantha Hines-Hirsch mishandled a ball in the box. Kaitlyn Wright (Geneva, N.Y.) collected the loose ball and buried it into the back of the net for the first goal of the contest.
• The Knights tied the game early in the second half as they sent a free-kick into the box that bounced around before Queens' Jenna Rosenberger deflected the ball into the net.
• Daemen took the lead for good in the 71st minute as reigning ECC Offensive Player of the Year Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) sprinted past the Queens defense and slotted a ball into the low left corner of the net to make it a 2-1 contest.
• Less than two minutes later, Daemen was awarded a penalty kick after Miranto was dragged down in the box. On the ensuing shot, Hines-Hirsch saved the kick from All-ECC Second Team selection Madita Zeitz (Malsch, Germany) to keep the score at 2-1.
• The Wildcats continued to pressure the Knights backline and broke through again in the 79th minute as Miranto crossed a ball that found the head of Wright for her second goal of the day.
• After the goal, Anna Tavantzis picked up a yellow card followed immediately by a red card which dropped the Knights to ten players for the remainder of the contest.
• Zeitz closed out the scoring in the 80th minute by curling a ball off a corner kick into the lower left corner of the net.
• In net, All-ECC Second Team honoree Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) made nine saves in the winning effort while Hines-Hirsch tallied five stops of her own. Both keepers played the full 90 minutes.
• Daemen held a 16-13 edge in shots and took the only two corner kicks of the match.
