EARLY SEASON TEST
The Daemen University women's soccer team continues their season opening seven-game road trip with a match against #13Â Adelphi University on Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. Last season, the two sides met for the first time in program history, playing to a 1-1 tie at Karrer Field.

LAST TIME OUT AGAINST ADELPHI
The Wildcats and Panthers last met on Oct. 11, 2023, with both sides then ranked in the East region with Adelphi ranked second and Daemen ranked 10
th. After a scoreless first half, Daemen struck first with junior
Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) scoring the opening goal of the contest in the 61
st minute. Still, the Panthers evened the score in the 83
rd minute off a goal from Gia Mandile to tie the match. Neither side scored the remainder of the way with the match finishing with a 1-1 draw.Â

BETWEEN THE STICKS
Junior goalie
Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) opened her 2024 campaign with a season-high 14 saves against Assumption University on Sept. 6. It eclipsed her previous career-high of 12 which she set on Oct. 21, 2023 against St. Thomas Aquinas College. For her career, Schultz has made 10-or-more saves on five occasions.

Dan Dolan, the Wildcats qualified for the ECC Tournament for the third consecutive year after posting a 9-5-3 overall record and 6-1-1 mark in ECC play while putting together an 11-match unbeaten streak during the middle part of the season. Ranked as high as eighth in the East Region by the United Soccer Coaches last season, Daemen finished second in the final ECC regular season standings, the program's highest finish since joining the conference in 2013. ADD ANOTHER AWARD TO THE TROPHY CABINET
Reigning 2023 ECC Offensive Player of the YearÂ
Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) earned another accolade as she became the first Wildcat to be named ECC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. The junior compiled one of the best statistical seasons in program history, finishing the year ranked seventh nationally in both goals per game (0.94) and points per game (2.18) while leading the Wildcats and ECC in goals (16) and points (37). She also became the first D2CCA All-American in program history during Daemen's Division II-era (2015-present), earning a spot on the third team. The North Tonawanda, N.Y. native was also named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division II All-East Regional team and the 2023 ECC Offensive Player of the Year. Â
SCOUTING ADELPHI:
The Panthers are currently 1-1-0 on the young season after playing two games at the Bentley Kickoff Tournament. Adelphi defeated ECC foe Molloy University, 3-0, on Sept. 5 Â to open the year but losing to Wilmington University (Del.), 2-1, on Sept. 7. Â Lola Kochanskyj leads Adelphi in points with three (1G, 1A) while in net, Peyton DeRouen has made seven total saves, with a season-high four in the Panthers 3-0 win over Molloy. The Panthers also began the year with a high regional ranking, getting tabbed fourth nationally in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top-25 poll after going 15-4-5 in 2023, but now sit ranked 13th in the country.Â

The two teams tied, 1-1, in their lone prior meeting last season on Oct. 11, 2023.
UP NEXT:
The Wildcats are idle until Sept. 17 when they head to Manchester, NH, to face Southern New Hampshire University. Kick-off from the Granite State is set for 1 p.m.
