AMHERST, N.Y. – The Daemen University men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against Saint Michael's College in intercollegiate men's soccer action Sunday morning at Karrer Field.
Each team now owns identical 2-1-1 records after the first draw of the season for both squads.
HIGHLIGHTS
• The Wildcats posted a 6-2 edge in shots with neither team taking a shot on target.
• Daemen did not allow a single Saint Michael's shot in the first half while take four of their own, three of which came off the foot of graduate student

• At the 44:36 mark, Marshall Butler picked up his second yellow card of the match which became a red and dropped the Purple Knight's to ten men for the remainder of the contest.
• Each side attempted two more shots in the second half before the final whistle.
GAME NOTES
• Today marked the third all-time meeting between the two sides with the last two meetings both ending in a draw.
• Today also marked the first draw for Daemen since last year, also against Saint Michael's, when the two sides played to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 9, 2023, in Colechester, VT.
• Daemen played in a scoreless draw for the first time in program history since Sept. 20, 2008, against Point Park University.
• There were nine total cards in the match with four yellow cards issued to each team and the lone red card given to Saint Michael's. It topped the previous season-high of seven combined cards between Daemen and Malone University on Sept. 5.

JuanTejeda-Moreno (Chico, Calif.) each made their first starts of the 2024 campaign.

Daemen takes the pitch again on Sept. 18 when they travel to Wilmington, Del., to play Goldey-Beacom. Kick-off from Nancy Churchman Sawin Field is set for 4 p.m.
