STAYING ON THE ROAD
The Daemen University women's soccer team continues their season-opening seven game road swing with a 1 p.m. test against No. 10 Southern New Hampshire University on Sept. 17. The two sides have only played once before, with the Penmen winning, 3-0, Sept. 14, 2022.

Through three games played, junior goalie
Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) leads the ECC in total saves with 22. The junior netminder opened her 2024 campaign with a career-high 14 saves against Assumption University on Sept. 6. In her last outing, the Grand Island, N.Y., native, made seven saves against No. 13 Adelphi on Sept. 11.
NATIONAL TESTS
Southern New Hampshire is the second consecutive ranked opponent that Daemen will face this season. The Wildcats fell to No. 13 Adelphi on Sept. 11, 5-0, in their first meeting against a ranked opponent this season. The Penmen are the second of three nationally ranked opponents Daemen will play as they are scheduled to play Gannon, who was ranked No. 5 in the USC Top-25 Preseason Poll earlier this year, on Oct. 23 at home.

Dan Dolan, the Wildcats qualified for the ECC Tournament for the third consecutive year after posting a 9-5-3 overall record and 6-1-1 mark in ECC play while putting together an 11-match unbeaten streak during the middle part of the season. Ranked as high as eighth in the East Region by the United Soccer Coaches last season, Daemen finished second in the final ECC regular season standings, the program's highest finish since joining the conference in 2013. Seven Wildcats also earned All-ECC honors with
Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.),
Magda Carpenter (Lebanon, Conn.),
Madita Zeitz (Malsch, Germany) and
Alyssa Diaz (Rochester, N.Y.) named to the first team,
Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) tabbed to the second team with
Brooke Amato (Grand Island, N.Y.) and
Nevada Hahn (Lancaster, N.Y.) selected to the third team. The Wildcats also nabbed two major awards with Miranto tabbed the ECC Offensive Player of the Year Carpenter named the conferences rookie of the year.
ADD ANOTHER AWARD TO THE TROPHY CABINET
Reigning 2023 ECC Offensive Player of the Year
Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) earned another accolade as she became the first Wildcat to be named ECC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. The junior compiled one of the best statistical seasons in program history, finishing the year ranked seventh nationally in both goals per game (0.94) and points per game (2.18) while leading the Wildcats and ECC in goals (16) and points (37). She also became the first D2CCA All-American in program history during Daemen's Division II-era (2015-present), earning a spot on the third team. The North Tonawanda, N.Y. native was also named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division II All-East Regional team and the 2023 ECC Offensive Player of the Year.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE (2-1-0)
After beginning the year unranked, the Penmen opened the year going 2-1-0 and jumped to No. 10 in the latest USC Top-25 poll. In their last game, Southern New Hampshire defeated Wilmington University, 3-1, with Ava Jakich-Kunze scoring twice, including the game-winning goal. Jakic-Kunze and Alyssa Anderson have paced the Penmen early this year on the offensive front with a team-best four points each. In net, Claudia Keith has played all three games and totaled 12 saves. Prior to the season, the Penmen were selected third in the Northeast-10 Women's Soccer Preseason Poll, earning 87 points and two first place votes.
SERIES HISTORY
Southern New Hampshire defeated Daemen, 3-0, in their lone prior meeting on Sept. 14, 2022, when the two sides met in Manchester, NH.
UP NEXT
The Wildcats begin ECC play on Sept. 21 as they head to Staten Island to face the College of Staten Island. Kick-off is set for 11 a.m.
