AMHERST, N.Y. -- Daemen University graduate student
Jasmine Brundage (East Aurora, N.Y.) of the women's volleyball team was named the East Coast Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week for week two of the 2024 season.
Brundage, who was named the 2023 ECC Libero of the Year, led the Wildcats in digs across all three matches over the weekend at the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament. The 5-foot-5 libero totaled 52 digs while posting an ECC-leading 4.73 digs per set without committing a single receiving error over 11 sets. Brundage totaled 18 digs in both of the Wildcats' victories over the University of New Haven and American International College and dished out 16 digs in the loss to Bentley University. She added four service aces in the five-set win over New Haven, and added an ace in both Saturday matches against the Falcons and Yellowjackets as well. Brundage also totaled 17 assists on the weekend.
On the year, Brundage has totaled double-digit digs in all seven of Daemen's matches, including a season-high 28 digs against Maryville on Sept. 7. The graduate student ranks second in the ECC with 5.08 digs per set for a total of 132 digs on the year.
The Wildcats are 4-3 on the year after going 2-1 at the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament over the weekend. Daemen will travel to Indiana, Pa. on Friday and Saturday for the Crimson Hawk Classic hosted by IUP where they will play three matches for their final tournament of the season.
