BACK IN ACTION
The Daemen University men's soccer team gears up for two games this week, first traveling to Slippery Rock on Wednesday for its final non-conference tilt of the season, then hosting Molloy on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
Daemen dropped a 2-0 decision at Mercy last Saturday. Dylan Delaney (Lockport, N.Y.) stopped nine shots in the contest. Jankovic led the team with two shots in the match. The Wildcats also fell 2-1 last Wednesday at Roberts Wesleyan. Stefan Jankovic (Reykjavik, Iceland) brought Daemen back into the game with his first career goal in the 41st minute, narrowing the deficit to 2-1. The Wildcats could not find an equalizer, though, despite some good chances from Axel Lozoya (Santa Fe, N.M.) and Larry Noel (Nassau, Bahamas).

RACKING UP THE SAVES
Delaney leads the East Coast Conference in saves per game (5.82) and total saves (64). The freshman stopped a season-high 12 shots at Franklin Pierce (Sept. 17). He also made nine saves against Mercy (Oct. 11), Queens (Oct. 4), and Saint Anselm (Sept. 12).

LEADING THE WAY
Stevie Varallo (Wilson, N.Y.) has logged four points via a goal and two assists, and is tied with Larry Noel (Nassau, Bahamas), who has scored two goals, for the team lead. Varallo's two helpers are tied with Jonathan Lopez-Leblanc (Centennial, Colo.) for the team lead, while Noel is the Wildcats' leader in goals.

LOGGING MINUTES
Axel Lozoya (Santa Fe, N.M.) leads Wildcat field players in minutes (828), having played the full 90 in four contests this season. Selim Ozleplebici (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) (735) and Varallo (713) sit just behind Lozoya. Ozleplebici has logged three complete games.

CAREER FIRSTS
Jankovic netted his first career goal during last Wednesday's game at Roberts Wesleyan. Amin Garcia (Leganes, Spain) notched his first career goal against Queens on Oct. 4. Previously, Lozoya netted his first career goal against Lock Haven on Sept. 23, and Varallo scored his first at Franklin Pierce on Sept. 17. Jankovic joined Garcia, Lozoya, Varallo, Ozleplebici, Thomas Wikan (Inderøy, Norway), and Tim Florek (Marburg, Germany) as Wildcat players who have netted their first collegiate goal this season.

SCOUTING SLIPPERY ROCK (4-5-1, 2-2-0 PSAC)
The Rock is coming off a 3-0 win at California (Pa.) last Saturday, snapping a two-game losing streak. SRU has also played three other ECC schools this season, defeating D'Youville (1-0), falling to District of Columbia (2-3), and tying Roberts Wesleyan (1-1). Kayden Reynolds (4G, 1A, 9P) leads the team in goals and points. Cornelis Dedecker has logged a team-high four assists.  Goalkeeper Alvery Kaufman has started seven games, logging a 1.86 goals-against average and a .618 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
Slippery Rock leads the series with a 4-1 record. The teams last met during the 2023 season when The Rock earned a 5-2 win on their home field. Daemen won the previous meeting in 2022 with a 1-0 victory in Amherst.
SCOUTING MOLLOY (1-4-5, 0-1-3 ECC)
The Lions are on an eight-game winless streak, most recently tying Roberts Wesleyan 3-3 last Saturday. Molloy also dropped a 3-2 non-conference game to Caldwell last Tuesday. Danu Kinsella Bishop is the team leader in goals (7) and points (14). Matt Starr and Wilmer Flores have both tallied two assists. Callum Hunt has started all 10 games between the pipes, posting a 1.40 goals-against average and a .725 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
Molloy leads the all-time series, 9-2, and has won five of the last seven meetings. Last year, the Lions picked up a 2-0 win on their home field after scoring twice in the second half.
