The Wildcats then host Molloy on Saturday in a rematch of the last two ECC Championship games. REGIONALLY RANKED CATS Daemen remained ranked No. 10 in the United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll for the second straight week. The Wildcats joined Molloy and Mercy as regionally ranked teams in the ECC last week. Saint Anselm is ranked No. 4 in the East Region. Daemen has also played two other regional-ranked opponents this season in Assumption and Mercy. LAST TIME OUT Daemen fell 1-0 at No. 13 Mercy after the Mavericks scored in the fourth minute. The Wildcats' offensive opportunities were limited in the game, being down their top player, Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.), who is sidelined due to injury. Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) stopped 10 shots in the contest. Kaitlyn Wright (Geneva, N.Y.) contributed with one shot, while Macayla Hansen (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) also added a shot for the team. Last Wednesday, Daemen downed Tiffin 1-0 thanks to a goal from Miranto and 11 saves from Schultz. SCHULTZ NAMED CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Schultz was named ECC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday. The senior earned the honor for the third-straight week after being named Defensive Player of the Week the previous two. Schultz stopped 21 shots, posted a 0.50 goals-against-average, and recorded a .955 save percentage in two games last week, helping Daemen go 1-1. WEEKLY HONOR ROLL Miranto was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll for the third straight week on Monday. The senior scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 win over Tiffin last Wednesday. She only played 27 minutes before being sidelined due to injury. This marked the fourth consecutive game in which she scored a game-winning goal, and was her seventh game-winner of the season. IN THE RANKINGS Miranto currently leads the ECC in goals (11), points (27), and game-winning goals (7). She is tied for second in assists (5). The senior also sits tied for second nationally in points and goals, while ranking first in GWG. Wright is tied for sixth in the ECC in goals (5) and points (12).
