KINGS PARK, N.Y. -- The Daemen University women's cross country team placed fourth out of eight teams at Saturday's East Coast Conference Championships on Long Island. In their 13th ECC Championships appearances, the Wildcats maintained their streak of never finishing worse than fourth.

Daemen posted a team score of 80 in the race, trailing team champion Roberts Wesleyan (20), Molloy (67) and D'Youville (73). The Wildcats cleared Staten Island (160), St. Thomas Aquinas (194), District of Columbia (196) and Queens (197).

Senior
Patsy Oberholzer (Greece, N.Y.) earned First Team All-ECC honors by finishing sixth in the individual standings with a 5K time of 19:25.20, within two seconds of her mark from last season's event which saw Oberholzer finish 12th. The senior has been the Wildcats' top finisher in each of their five races this season. It was Oberholzer's second all-conference selection after earning a Second Team nod last season.

Senior
Christa Oates (Tonawanda, N.Y.) also picked up her second career all-conference honor, claiming a spot on the Second Team for the second consecutive season. Oates finished in 19:57.20, good enough for 13th place after an 11th place mark in 2024.

Sophomore
Lia Brasacchio (Victor, N.Y.) just missed an all-conference spot in 17th place with a time of 20:18.00, finishing third for the Wildcats. Fellow sophomore
Kylie Piekarski followed in fourth among Daemen runners and 24th overall, recording a 20:45.10. Piekarski also finished 24th at the ECC Championships last year. Senior
Madeline Straub was the fifth Wildcat across the finish line with a 21:04.50 in 28th place overall, two spots better than she managed last season.

Hayley Pizur (Grand Island, N.Y.) was 35th with a time of 21:31.00 while freshmen
Raegan Giardini (West Clarksville, N.Y.) was 40th (22:03.70),
Grace Tag (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) was 49th (22:33.00) and
Teagan Jones was 59th (24:15.30)

The Wildcats have next weekend off leading into the NCAA DII East Region Championships on Nov. 8, an event in which Daemen finished third in out of 19 competing teams last year.
