Women's Soccer Concludes Regular Season With Two Home Matches

WRAPPING UP THE REGULAR SEASON
The Daemen University women's soccer team concludes the regular season this week with two home matches. First, Southern New Hampshire for the final non-conference game. The Wildcats then host Staten Island Saturday in its East Coast Conference and regular season finale. After last weekends results, the Wildcats officially clinched a spot in the 2025 ECC Women's Soccer Championship. The tournament seedings will be announced after Saturday's games. 

THANK YOU, SENIORS!
The Wildcats will hold senior day prior to Saturday's game, honoring their five members of Daemen's class of 2026. Bella Astudillo (Greece, N.Y.), Nevada Hahn (Lancaster, N.Y.), Alexis Nguyen (Grand Island, N.Y.), Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.), and Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) will be recognized pregame. 

LAST TIME OUT
Daemen and D'Youville played to a scoreless draw last Wednesday at Dobson Field, with Schultz making five saves to record her third clean sheet of the season. Miranto fired  two shots in the match, one of which was on goal. Kaitlyn Wright (Geneva, N.Y.) and Macayla Hansen (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) each managed a shot, with both attempts being on target.

ROOKIE RACKING UP
Hansen has 10 points with four goals and two assists this season. The freshman sits third on the team in goals and points. She also found the back of the net in victories over St. Thomas Aquinas (Sept. 20), Roberts Wesleyan (Sept. 24 and Oct. 1). She logged three points (1G, 1A) in the first game against the Redhawks. 

SUPER SCHULTZ
Schultz  leads the ECC in saves (128), save percentage (.895) and saves per game (9.14). The senior stopped 10 shots against St. Anslem (Oct. 15) and logged 12 saves against Molloy (Oct. 18). Schultz posted an .815 save percentage combined in the two games. She also logged her third clean sheet of the season with five saves against D'Youville on Oct. 22

IN THE RANKINGS
Miranto is currently tied for the ECC lead in goals (11), while leading the league in points (27), and game-winning goals (7). She is tied for fourth in assists (5). Wright is sixth in points (14) and goals (6).
SCOUTING SOUTHERN  NEW HAMPSHIRE (4-6-2, 2-3-2 NE10)
The Penmen are coming off a 3-2 win over Bentley last Tuesday after falling 3-0 to Pace the prior Saturday. Sneha Limbu leads the squad in goals (4) and points (8), while Avary Hall has tallied a team-best five assists. Claudia Keith has started 11 games in goal, posting a 4-5-2 record, a .776 save percentage, and a 1.55 goals-against average. 

SERIES HISTORY
The teams will be meeting for the third time on Wednesday. Last season, SNHU took a 2-0 win on their home field. The Penmen also defeated the Wildcats 2-0 in the inaugural  matchup during the 2022 season.
SCOUTING STATEN ISLAND (3-9-2, 1-4-1 ECC)
The Dolphins are coming off a 2-0 loss at #16 Mercy last Saturday and are 0-3 in their last three ECC matches. Freshman Annika Jurik leads CSI in goals (4) and points (8). Fellow rookie Phoebe Ossola has logged a team-high four helpers. Goalkeeper Brianna Dore has made 10 starts, posting a 2-6-2 record, a .806 save percentage, and a 1.37 GAA. 

SERIES HISTORY
The Wildcats hold a 4-0 record in the series, which dates back to 2021. Last season, Daemen earned a 5-1 win at CSI, with Miranto logging a hat trick and Schultz making six saves.
