LAST TIME OUT Daemen fell 5-0 at home to Georgian Court in a non-conference tilt last Saturday. The Lions scored four goals in the first half, including three in the opening eight minutes. GCU added another in the 72nd minute, making it 5-0. Dylan Delaney (Lockport, N.Y.) stopped two shots in 78 minutes of action. The Wildcats managed a few shots on goal, but efforts by Larry Noel (Nassau, Bahamas) and Sujan Rajamohan (Spencerport, N.Y.) were saved by Batista. Daemen also had three corners in the contest, which they could not convert. RACKING UP THE SAVES Through the first seven games, Delaney leads the East Coast Conference in saves per game (5.50) and is second in total saves (44). The freshman stopped a season-high 12 shots at Franklin Pierce (Sept. 17). He also made nine saves against Saint Anselm (Sept. 12) and stopped five shots against Saint Michael's (Sept. 10). LEADING THE WAY Varallo has logged four points with a goal and two assists, and is tied with Larry Noel (Nassau, Bahamas) for the team lead. Varallo's two helpers lead the squad, while Noel is the team leader in goals. LOGGING MINUTES Lozoya leads Wildcat field players in minutes (648), having played the full 90 in four contests this season. Selim Ozleplebici (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) has logged three complete games and sits behind Lozoya. CAREER FIRSTS Axel Lozoya netted his first career goal against Lock Haven on Sept 23. Varallo scored his first career goal at Saint Michael's on Sept. 17, and Lozoya's assist on it marked his first career point. Lozoya joined Varallo, Selim Ozleplebici (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), Thomas Wikan (Inderøy, Norway), and Tim Florek (Marburg, Germany) as Wildcats who have netted their first collegiate goal this season. SCOUTING QUEENS (6-1-2, 2-0-1 ECC) The Knights are receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll and are ranked No. 6 in the East Region. Queens picked up its second ECC victory this past Wednesday, defeating District of Columbia 4-1. The Knights have won three straight games after earning victories over East Stroudsburg and Mercy last week. Miguel Soto Gonzalez leads the squad in assists (7) and points (12), having also scored five goals. Bradyn Brown has tallied a team-leading seven goals. Thanasis Shehadeh has started all nine matches between the pipes, logging a .771 save percentage and a 0.91 goals-against average. SERIES HISTORY Queens leads the all-time series 9-2 and has won four of the last five meetings. Last season, the Knights earned a 2-0 win on their home field.
