LAST TIME OUT Daemen earned a 3-1 road victory at Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday, securing its fifth straight victory. Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal to reach 100 career points in the contest. She became the fourth player in program history to reach the 100 career point mark. After RWU went up 1-0, Macayla Hansen (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) equalized with a penalty kick in the 12th minute, leveling the score at 1-1. Miranto then scored in the 53rd minute with an assist from Kaitlyn Wright (Geneva, N.Y.), putting Daemen ahead 2-1. Marisa Rickard (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) extended the Wildcats' lead to 3-1 with a goal in the 74th minute. Becca Schultz (Grand Rapids, N.Y.) recorded eight saves in the match, helping secure her sixth win of the season. SCHULTZ NAMED DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Schultz was named ECC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. She posted a 2-0 record, a 1.00 goals-against average, and a .917 save percentage last week, stopping a combined 22 shots in the two wins. The goalkeeper leads the ECC in saves (62), saves per game (8.86), and save percentage (.899). She is also third in goals-against average (1.018). This is the third time this season that Schultz has been named Defensive Player of the Week, and the 11th time in her career she has earned the accolade. WEEKLY HONOR ROLL Miranto was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. The senior logged six points (2G, 2A) in two games, helping Daemen to two wins last week. She scored a goal in a non-conference win over Roberts (Sept. 24). On Saturday against Post, Miranto contributed to all three of Daemen's goals in a 3-2 victory, logging four points (1G, 2A). IN THE RANKINGS Miranto currently leads the ECC in goals (9), points (21), and game-winning goals (5). She is tied for fifth in assists (3) with Victoria DiCarlo (North Tonawanda, N.Y) and Lily Macfarlane (Murcott, England). Wright is tied for fifth in points (8) along with Hansen. SCOUTING QUEENS (1-5-2) The Knights are coming off a 0-0 tie against Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday. Queens' lone win this season came over D'Youville by a 1-0 score on Sept. 20. Mia Golcochea leads the team in goals (2) and points (4). Four different players have registered an assist for the Knights. Samantha Hines-Hirsch has started eight games between the pipes, logging a 1.83 goals–against average and a .702 save percentage. SERIES HISTORY The all-time series, which dates back to the 2013 season, is led narrowly by Daemen (6-5-1), with the Wildcats having won six of the last seven matches. Daemen ended Queens' season in the ECC semifinals last year, defeating the Knights 4-1. The semifinal contest marked the first postseason meeting between the programs.
