Men's Soccer Hosts CSI for Senior Day Saturday

LOOKING TO END ON A HIGH NOTE
The Daemen University men's soccer team looks to end the year on a high notes as it concludes its season against Staten Island at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Royal Park.

THANK YOU, SENIORS!
The Wildcats will honor their seniors prior to the game on Saturday. Fifth-year Alex Aguirre (Miami, Fla.), and seniors Larry Noel (Nassau, Bahamas), Sujan Rajamohan (Spencerport, N.Y.), Joshua Choi (Upland, Calif.), Axel Lozoya (Santa Fe, N.M.), and Jean Tilo (Port-au–Prince, Hati) will all be recognized. 

LAST TIME OUT
Daemen dropped a 1-0 decision at Distict of Columbia last Saturday.  Daemen managed several attempts to equalize, with Stevie Varallo (Wilson, N.Y.) and Cohen Vogel (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) both attempting shots, though neither found the net. Yves Sisse (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Amin Garcia (Leganes, Spain) each took shots in the second half, with one attempt from Garcia hitting the post in the 54th minute. The Wildcats also fell 4-1 last Wednesdat at D'Youville. After the Saints went ahead by two, Amin Garcia (Leganes, Spain) found the back of the net in the 32nd minute to narrow the gap to 2-1. 

RACKING UP THE SAVES
Delaney ranks second in the East Coast Conference in saves per game (5.14) and total saves (72). The freshman stopped a season-high 12 shots at Franklin Pierce (Sept. 17). He also made nine saves against Mercy (Oct. 11), Queens (Oct. 4), and Saint Anselm (Sept. 12).

LEADING THE WAY
Stevie Varallo (Wilson, N.Y.) has logged four points via a goal and two assists, and is tied with Noel and Garcia who have scored two goals, for the team lead. Varallo's two helpers are tied with Jonathan Lopez-Leblanc (Centennial, Colo.) for the team lead. Noel is tied with Garcia as the Wildcats' leaders in goals.

LOGGING MINUTES
Lozoya leads Wildcat field players in minutes (1087), having played the full 90 in six contests this season. Tilo (990) and Stefan Jankovic (Reykjavik, Iceland) (950) sit just behind Lozoya. Tilio has logged a complete games in all 11 contests he has played.

CAREER FIRSTS
Jankovic netted his first career goal during the game at Roberts Wesleyan (Oct 8). Garcia notched his first career goal against Queens on Oct. 4. Previously, Lozoya netted his first career goal against Lock Haven on Sept. 23, and Varallo scored his first at Franklin Pierce on Sept. 17. Jankovic joined Garcia, Lozoya, Varallo, Ozleplebici, Thomas Wikan (Inderøy, Norway), and Florek as Wildcat players who have netted their first collegiate goal this season.
SCOUTING STATEN ISLAND (1-7-5, 0-5-2 ECC)
The Dolphins are winless in their last 10 games (0-4-6), most recently coming off a 0-0 tie at Mercy last Saturday. CSI also fell 1-0 at District of Columbia last Wednesday. Alvarado Wolfgnag leads the squad in goals (3) and is tied for the team lead in points with Larose Peterson (2G, 2A). Lua Schelling has started seven games in goal, logging a 0-3-3 record, a 1.57 goals-against average, and a .725 save percentage. 

SERIES HISTORY
Daemen is 3-1 all time against CSI. The Dolphins earned their first win in the series last season, defeating the Wildcats 3-2 on their home field.
