BACK ON THE ROAD
The Daemen University men's soccer team hits the road for two ECC matches this week, taking on regionally-ranked Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday and Mercy on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
Daemen tied the game at 1-1 with a goal from Amin Garcia (Leganes, Spain), but Queens scored three straight to earn a 4-1 victory Saturday at Royal Park. After the Knights pulled ahead 1-0 in the ninth minute, Garcia equalized with his first career goal in the 65th minute, making it 1-1. The Knights then scored three straight goals to pull ahead 4-1. The Wildcats had other opportunities with shots from Selim Ozleplebici (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) and Larry Noel (Nassau, Bahamas), but they could not put another goal in. Dylan Delaney (Lockport, N.Y.) posted nine saves across 90 minutes in goal, facing 20 shots.

RACKING UP THE SAVES
Delaney leads the East Coast Conference in saves per game (5.89) and total saves (53). The freshman stopped a season-high 12 shots at Franklin Pierce (Sept. 17). He also made nine saves against Queens (Oct. 4) and Saint Anselm (Sept. 12).

LEADING THE WAY
Stevie Varallo (Wilson, N.Y.)  has logged four points via a goal and two assists, and is tied with Larry Noel (Nassau, Bahamas) for the team lead. Varallo's two helpers lead the squad, while Noel is the team leader in goals.

LOGGING MINUTES
Axel Lozoya (Santa Fe, N.M.) leads Wildcat field players in minutes (693), having played the full 90 in four contests this season. Varallo (677) and Ozleplebici (673) sit just behind Lozoya. Ozleplebici has logged three complete games.

CAREER FIRSTS
Garcia notched his first career goal in last Saturday's match. Previously, Lozoya netted his first career goal against Lock Haven on Sept 23, and Varallo scored his first career goal at Saint Michael's on Sept. 17. Garcia joined Lozoya, Varallo, Ozleplebici, Thomas Wikan (Inderøy, Norway), and Tim Florek (Marburg, Germany) as Wildcats who have netted their first collegiate goal this season.
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (6-0-4, 2-0-1 ECC)
The Redhawks are unbeaten thus far and are coming off a 0-0 tie against District of Columbia last Saturday. Roberts is ranked No. 8 in the United Soccer Coaches East Region poll. RWU has also picked up ECC wins over D'Youville and Staten Island. Archie Murphy leads the squad in goals (9) and points (20). Sebastian Guerrero has recorded eight points (3G, 2A). Eric Jewson has started all 10 games between the pipes, logging a 0.90 goals-against average and a 0.852 save percentage.
