Men's Soccer Falls Short at Roberts Wesleyan

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Daemen pulled within one in the first half, but fell to Roberts Wesleyan 2-1 on Wednesday night at Roberts Stadium.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Takumi Horan opened the scoring for RWU in the 10th minute, giving the home side an early 1-0 lead.  
  • Ewan O'Dwyer-Hall doubled the advantage for the Redhawks in the 15th minute, assisted by Sebastian Guerrero, making the score 2-0.
  • A red card was issued to O'Dwyer-Hall in the 32nd minute, putting the Redhawks down a player.
  • Stefan Jankovic brought Daemen back into the game with a goal in the 41st minute, narrowing the deficit to 2-1.  
  • The Wildcats had an early look from Larry Noel (Nassau, Bahamas) in the second minute, but his shot landed off target.
  • Cohen Vogel (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) challenged with a shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the keeper made the save.
  • Axel Lozoya (Santa Fe, N.M.) ripped a shot over the crossbar in the 78th minute.
  • RWU's Jack Hopson and Archie Murphy pressured with consecutive shots at '62, which were both saved by Daemen's Dylan Delaney (Lockport, N.Y.).
  • Noel had a chance to equalize in the 82nd minute, but his attempt went wide right.
  • Garcia also had an opportunity a minute later, with his landing to the left.
GAME NOTES
  • Jankovic's goal was the first of his career. He becomes the sixth Wildcat to score their first career goal this season.  
  • Delaney stopped two shots between the pipes
  • Noel led the team with three shots, one of which was on target.

The Wildcats are back on the road Saturday, heading to Mercy for a 12 p.m. match.
