Bill Named ECC Player of the Week Third straight weekly award for Daemen center 12/1/2025 1:00:00 PM AMHERST, N.Y. - Daemen University star center Benjamin Bill (Hamburg, N.Y.) has been named the East Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the period of November 24-30. It marks the third consecutive week that Bill, a 6-foot-10 redshirt junior, has brought home a weekly award from the conference. Bill had a monster week while leading No. 3 Daemen to wins over California (Pa.) and Clarion to improve to 8-0 this season. The Western New York native averaged 21.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 75 percent from the field. In the Wildcats' 83-64 win over Cal on Nov. 24, Bill recorded his fifth double-double of the season, tallying a team-high 23 points while grabbing 11 rebounds. He added three assists, one block and one steal as Daemen knocked off the Vulcans for a second straight season. He followed that performance by scoring a team-high 19 points on perfect 8-for-8 field-goal shooting to lead Daemen past Clarion, 74-64, on Nov. 29. Bill added eight boards, three assists and two blocks in the win. Bill, who was the ECC Player of the Year and a consensus All-American last season, is leading Daemen in both scoring (19.0 ppg) and rebounding (10.3 rpg) through the first month of the 2025-26 campaign. He was previously named the ECC Player of the Week on Nov. 17 and the ECC Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 24. Bill is now a 10-time recipient of an ECC weekly award in his career, including six Player of the Week selections. Bill was joined on the weekly award list by Tahj-Malik Campbell (ECC Defensive Player of the Week) and Henri Mennander (ECC Rookie of the Week), both of Queens College. In addition to Bill's selection, Daemen redshirt senior forward Justin Hemphill (Buffalo, N.Y.) was named to the ECC weekly honor roll. Hemphill continues to stuff the stat sheet on a nightly basis as he averaged 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 71 percent from the field in the two Daemen victories last week. Bill and Hemphill will lead the Wildcats into conference play later this week with Queens visiting for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off Friday evening.
