Bill Lands Co-Player of the Week Honors

AMHERST, N.Y. – After helping the No. 2/3 Daemen University men's basketball team secure their third East Coast Conference Regular Season Championship in program history, redshirt sophomore center Benjamin Bill (Hamburg, N.Y.) was tabbed the ECC Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
 
Bill earned co-player of the week honors alongside Rob Matos of Molloy University. This season, the Hamburg, N.Y., native has taken home six weekly awards as he was named the ECC Player of the Week on four occasions (Dec. 2, 9, 23 & Feb. 15) and the ECC Defensive Player of the Week twice (Dec. 9 & Jan. 13).
 
This past week, Bill notched back-to-back double-doubles and averaged 18.5 points and 12.5 rebounds over two conference wins. The Daemen redshirt sophomore center posted 18 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, and a steal against Molloy to help clinch the ECC Regular Season Championship for the Wildcats. He followed the performance with 19 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks against Queens to keep Daemen's undefeated record intact.
 
Bill currently leads the nation and ECC in field goal percentage at .727. He also ranks second in the ECC and 50th nationally for total field goals at 152. On the defensive side of the ball, Bill is third in the ECC for both total blocks (39) and blocks per game (1.86). His 1.86 blocks per game rank 26th nationally while his 39 total blocks ranks 30th across the country.
 
Daemen is back in action of Feb. 22 when they will head 20 minutes south to downtown Buffalo to face crosstown rival D'Youville. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. from the Saints Center Gym.
