HOUGHTON, N.Y. - The Daemen University women's track & field team competed at Highlander Invitational, held on the campus of Houghton University, in their second meet of the spring.
Junior
Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) trio of top three finishes and fellow junior
Samantha Kabel (Alexander, N.Y.) first place in the discus highlighted the Wildcats efforts at the meet.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Starting in the throwers circle, Kabel landed in first place for discus after a throw of 31.00 meters. Her throw now also ranks eighth all-time in program history as well.
• Kabel was not the only member of the 'Cats to finish within the top three for discus as sophomore
D'Naesha Quicksey (Buffalo, N.Y.) placed third (26.40).
• Sophomore
Julia Petry (Batavia, N.Y.) placed third in the shot put with a final throw of 9.61 meters.
• At the jump pit, Schultz finished third in the long jump with a final distance of 4.72 meters.
• On the track, Schultz placed first overall in the 100 meter hurdles with a final time of 16.22. It marked the second consecutive top three finish for Schultz in the hurdles this spring.
• The Grand Island, N.Y., native rounded out her impressive day on the track with a second place finish in the 100 meter dash (13.20).
• Graduate student
Camryn Bailey (Geneva, N.Y.) placed third in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:05.51.
• Junior Patsy Obenholzer earned her first top three finish in the outdoor season in the 3000 meters as she placed second with a time of 11:21.04.

The Wildcats will compete at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational from April 4 - 5.
