ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Daemen University men's track & field team wrapped up their spring slate by competing in the 2025 East Coast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday afternoon at Roberts Stadium.
The Wildcats placed fourth out of six teams and garnered 76 total points. Meet hosts Roberts Wesleyan captured the title with 217 points.
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Junior
Adam Kamagate (Hilton, N.Y.) picked up his second ECC title of the year and first of the outdoor season in the 110 meter hurdles as he placed first with a time of 15.18 seconds. The junior also claimed the ECC crown in the hurdles as well during the indoor season.
• Kamagate also placed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles (57.47) as well.
• In the 100 meter dash, graduate student
John Jaworski (Naperville, Ill.) placed first in the first round with a final time of 11.02 seconds to qualify for the finals alongside his teammate
Seth Connery (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) (11.21 seconds). In the final, Jaworski was edged out by .001 of a second to Vincent Ohenhen of Staten Island who won the race with a final time of 10.797 seconds.
• Jaworski and Ohenhen raced to the end in the 200 meter final as well, with Jaworski claiming second place (22.09 seconds).
• Junior
Josh Trometer (Lancaster, N.Y.) earned fourth place in the steeplechase (10:26.44).
• In the 1,500 meter final, sophomore
CJ Johnson (Baltimore, Md.) finished in second place with a final time of 3:58.56. The sophomore runner also landed in fourth (1:58.66) in the 800 meter as well.
• Sophomore
Ethan Keating (Wooster, Ohio) claimed second in the 5,000 meters, completing the race with a final time of 16:09.66.
• The Wildcats earned a second place finish in the 4x800 meter relay (8:29.47) with the team comprised of Johnson, Trometer, sophomore
Brad Tobin (Hamburg, N.Y.) and graduate student
Laertes Cushing (Alfred, N.Y).
