Ethan Keating (Wooster, Ohio) and
Josh Trometer (Lancaster, N.Y.) of Daemen University men's cross country and track & field have earned Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizing the athletes combined achievements on the course/track/field and in the classroom.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must have either a top-50 individual performance at the 2024 NCAA regional meet for Cross Country, or rank in the Top-50 in a single event (indoor or outdoor) for track & field with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and they must have reached sophomore athletic eligibility with at least one full calendar year completed at his/her current institution. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.Â
Camryn Bailey, Gr., Geneva, N.Y. -- In her graduate season, Bailey made quite the impact on both the cross country and track teams. Finishing as the first or second Wildcat across the line in seven of Daemen's eight meets this season, Bailey posted a 6K PR time of 22:15.7 to place ninth of 135 runners at the 2024 NCAA Division II East Region Championships and helped the Wildcats advance to the 2024 NCAA National Championship meet for the second time in three years. She earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors for the third year in a row while taking home First Team All-ECC honors for the second straight season. In the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons, Bailey also ranked in the top-50 in the region four separate times, twice landing in the top-10. She was seventh in the East Region in the 3000 meters (indoors) after posting a time of 10:34.04 at the 2025 YSU Mid Major Invitational, and eighth in the region in the 5,000 meters (outdoors) after a time of 18:33.58 at the 2025 UB Alumni Invitational. Bailey also ranks 18th in the East in the indoor mile with a time of 5:21.25 at the 2025 Highlander Invitational and 29th in the region in the 1500 meters (outdoors) after a time of 5:00.88 at the 2025 Brockport Multi Outdoor. Bailey has a 3.84 GPA while pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.Â
Samantha Kabel, So., Alexander, N.Y. -- Wrapping up a successful sophomore campaign for the Wildcats, Kabel ranked in the top-50 in the East Region in four separate events this year. Her best regional finish was 21st in the East in the hammer throw (outdoor) with a distance of 39.24m (138'9") at the 2025 ECC Outdoor Championships. Kabel also ranked 26th in the East in the discus (outdoor), posting a distance of 32.66m (107'2") at the 2025 UB Alumni Invitational. Ranking 28th in the region in indoor weight throw, Kabel posted a distance of 12.99m (42'7.5") at the 2025 YSU Mid Major Invitational and added one last regional ranking this season, finishing 48th in the East with a distance of 9.94m (32'7.5") in the shot put at the 2025 ECC Outdoor Championships. Majoring in Health Sciences, Kabel has maintained a 3.63 GPA.
Christa Oates, Jr., Tonawanda, N.Y. -- Running her first full cross country season as a Wildcat, Oates became an integral part of the Daemen team, finishing as one of the Wildcats' top seven runners in all eight meets. She posted six PR's this season, and earned CSC Academic All-District honors after placing 27th out of 135 runners at the 2024 NCAA Division II East Region Championships where she finished with a 6K PR time of 23:01.5. Oates earned Second Team All-ECC honors with her 11th place finish at 2024 ECC Championships. Majoring in Business Administration, Oates has maintained a 3.53 GPA.
Patsy Oberholzer, Jr., Greece, N.Y. -- In her junior campaign, Oberholzer put together a successful year on both the course and track. As one of Daemen's top five scoring runners in six of the eight meets she raced in this season, Oberholzer posted a Second Team All-ECC race at the 2024 ECC Championships, placing 12th overall, and followed up with a career-best finish at the 2024 NCAA Division II East Region Championship where she placed 30th of 135 with a time of 23:18.7 to help the Wildcats to a third-place team finish at regionals and earn the program's second automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA National Championships in three seasons. Oberholzer placed in the top-50 in the region in three outdoor events this season, ranking 14th in the 10,000 meters with a time of 42:07.86 at the 2025 ECC Outdoor Championships and is ranked 16th in the East Region in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:47.74 at the 2025 UB Alumni Invitational. Additionally, the junior is ranked 40th in the region in the 1,500 meters after posting a time of 5:08.63 at the 2025 UB Alumni Invitational. Graduating from undergrad a year early, Oberholzer has maintained a 3.97 GPA while majoring in Physical Therapy.
Becca Schultz, Jr., Grand Island, N.Y. -- Following up a record-breaking sophomore season from 2023-24, Schultz had another successful track & field campaign as a junior and landed in the East Region Top-50 in five events this season. She finished ranked 24th in the East in the 100 meter hurdles (outdoor) with a time of 15:98 at the 2025 ECC Outdoor Championships; additionally ranked 31st in the region in the 60 meter hurdles (indoors) with a time of 9:92 at the 2025 ECC Indoor Championships. Schultz is ranked 42nd in the region in the outdoor triple jump with a distance of 31'9.25" set at the 2025 Brockport Multi Outdoor Invitational, 45th in the East in the indoor long jump with a distance of 15'10.5" set at the 2025 ECC Outdoor Championships, and is 48th in the region in the outdoor long jump with a distance of 4.78 meters set at the 2025 UB Alumni Invitational. Majoring in Business Administration, Schultz boasts a 3.92 GPA.
Ethan Keating, So., Wooster, Ohio -- Keating put together a breakout cross country and track campaign in his sophomore season and earned top-50 regional rankings in four different events. The sophomore ranks 24th in the East in the 3,000 meter indoor race with a time of 9:04.30 set at the 2025 ECC Indoor Championships along with ranking 32nd in the 5,000 meter indoor race with a time of 16:39.95 at the 2025 YSU Mid Major Invitational. Keating earned top-50 rankings in two outdoor events this spring, coming in at 38th in the region in the 5,000 meter outdoor event with a time of 16:09.06 at the 2025 Geneseo Early Season Invitational and rounding out the top-50 with a 50th ranking in the 1,500 meter outdoor race time of 4:12.33 at the 2025 Highlander Invitational. Majoring in Physical Therapy, Keating has maintained a 3.98 GPA.
Josh Trometer, Jr., Lancaster, N.Y. -- In his junior season, Trometer came onto the scene in the steeplechase, setting a personal-best in the 3,000 meter steeple this season with a time of 10:26.44 at the 2025 ECC Outdoor Championships to rank 15th in East Region. His time ranks seventh in the Daemen outdoor track & field record books for 3,000 meter steeplechase. Trometer has a 3.64 GPA while majoring in Physical Therapy.
